Berkeley High School Photography Program

WOW you guys are great!
Since 2008 we've collected almost 1000 donated 35mm cameras to Berkeley High!  Cameras have arrived from all over the US and a few from other countries too. Thank you!

Donate your used 35mm or digital cameras
We take donations of 35mm cameras and newer digital cameras. Bring or ship your digital or 35mm camera donation to us at Photolab, 2235 Fifth Street, Berkeley, CA 94710

PLEASE LIMIT DONATIONS TO THE FOLLOWING ITEMS IN GOOD CONDITION (i.e no mildew, fungus or corrosion):

• 35mm film cameras and corresponding lenses
• Medium format film cameras
• Large film cameras
• DSLR cameras and corresponding lenses

Donations of 35mm film cameras are also accepted directly to Berkeley High School.

For a tax donation receipt please send an email directly to sammatsumoto@berkeley.net with a list of the items you donated.

ITEMS THAT ARE NOT NEEDED -BUT- if you think BHS could use, please Email to check before donating:

• "Point and Shoot" digital cameras
• Any lighting gear - including flashes
• Tripods
• Darkroom equipment
• Video cameras

Send a new battery with your camera, if you can!
Before sending your donation please check the battery in your camera. If it is old and dead please remove it so it cannot damage the camera. If you have a new working battery for the camera please include it in your donation. I recently learned that the photography teachers at Berkeley High are buying camera batteries out-of-pocket (that is, with their own funds) for donated cameras. >>Battery donations are always appreciated!<<

Donate Digital Cameras Too!
We're also collecting donations of used digital cameras for local community college students!

Students at the Photo Department of Laney College in Oakland would love to put your donated digital SLR camera to good use. Since 2013, instructors have been lending donated digital cameras to appreciative community college students.
